Stephen McGee to be Keynote Speaker

Panhandle FCA wants to announce that our annual Victory Banquet for 2011 will be held on Monday, March 28, in the Heritage Ballroom of the Amarillo Civic Center.  We are pleased to have Stephen McGee, back-up quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, as our keynote speaker.  Special music and personal testimony will be provided by local recording artist and ex-coach, Garre LaGrone.

Drafted as their first pick in the 4^th round of the 2009 NFL draft out of Texas A&M, Stephen is currently the back-up quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys.  McGee got his regular season starting debut in the 2010 season ending win against the Philadelphia Eagles. His touchdown pass to Jason Witten, with 55 seconds remaining, secured the 14-13 win for the Cowboys.

As a college senior, he was voted by his A&M teammates as the Aggie Heart Award winner.  Nationally, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes selected Stephen McGee as the sixth recipient of the prestigious Bobby Bowden Athlete of the Year in 2008.  This award recognizes the Football Bowl Subdivision (formerly Division IA) football player who epitomizes the student athlete who “conducts himself as a faith model in the community, in the classroom and on the field.” Nominees must have a 3.0 GPA or better and be recommended by his school’s Athletic Director and Head Football Coach.
